Events:

March

A dog racing evening will be held at the club house from 7pm on Sunday 14th March. All members and guests are welcome to pop along and have a little flutter and try Tony Simpsons American style hot dogs.

The shore league has started and despite the lack of fish some members have managed to weigh in. The next fixture will be on Wednesday 17th March from 7pm till 11pm with L. S. Dogfish as the premium.

It’s that time of year when the boat anglers are checking their boats and for me to buy a new anchor as the first boat fixture is booked for Sunday 21st . Fishing is from 11am till 5pm with Painted ray as the premium fish.

April

The committee will be holding the draw for the clubs boat bay which any member can apply for. If you are interested please let a committee member know before the first Monday in April. You must have insurance and the council fees vary according to the size of boat.

Tackle Show

On the 11th Alan Bravery will be filling the club house with bargains from Scotties tackle giving members the opportunity to spend their vouchers and a bit more on top.  See flyer for fall details.

Easter Family Fun Day

Tony Simpson is arranging a day of events on Easter Monday at the club  house with an Egg hunt, games, and quizzes as well as taking the opportunity to show off his skills in the cooking department.  See press and web site for more details.

WELL DONE

There has been some changes to the committee this year with Garreth Butt standing down as Chairman and taking the Vice Chair and Alan Bravery taking a rest from his lead role in all the clubs open events. Geoff Thorner and Steve Farrow have also taken time out from Committee and its only fitting that we say a big well done to them all for their hard work over the years and hope this gives them the opportunity to spend more time fishing. When you look back at the work these people have done for the club both on the upkeep of the building and the  open events including the outstanding junior and 22 hour opens you wonder where they get their energy from. So as a thank you I give you a sing along to some of their best moments.

All Together Now

notes

Where did you get that hat,
Where did you get that tile,
And isn't it a nobby one,
And what a proper style.
I should like to have one
Just the same as that;
Where' er I go they shout, Hello,
Where did you get that hat.

YOU HAVE TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT

How about playing the worm dangler lotto game for just £1 a month and have the chance of winning a cash prize as well as helping support the club.

How it works:

You pick a number between 1 and 70 at the cost of £1 a month.

At the end of each committee meeting the balls are placed in the lotto machine, given a spin and two balls are drawn out. The first ball wins up to 35% and the second 15% of the total balls sold.
